Finally! Pics of our World Cosplay Summit preliminary round costumes..
and I entered in Melbourne and got through to the finals. She was the Cloud to my Sephiroth and we did a mini skit/face off shenanigans.


Costume Info

This costume is fully handmade, I made the trenchcoat, boots, gloves, sword, shoulder armour and belts.
The wig styling was a combined effort as I received help and guidance from the wonderful . I am very proud of the wig!!!
The sword I got some help from the lovely Cathy and Kellie who helped me out with painting and sanding whilst I frantically busted my gut organising other things. I will remake the sword much much longer one day..but as we were told the stage wasn't very big (it was actually the size of a corridoor walk in wardrobe to be exact)..I didn't want to kill the audience and/or judges with a 10ft long sword...
The wing I owe much thanks to both Cathy and who helped me with drafting a design and workable frame, and then teaching me how to airbrush so I could paint it.
The boots are actually 5inch high red stilletos..my I-No boots to be precise! I had to redo the whole sole and make them look flat soled..I think Sephiroth wearing 5inch high red leather thigh boots under that makes me chuckle hilariously..Bwahaha..However they were so painful to walk in and fight in and stand in the whole day..I was about to faint from all the blood pooling in my feet.
The boot straps are made from Kangaroo silver dyed leather.
The trenchcoat is made from beautiful pleather we had to import and pay crazy amounts for o.O I threaded wire through the bottom to make it stick out for the whole squid thing his coat is doing..It's also built extra chunky to give me manpecs!!! <.<;;;
The gloves I had to add crazy wing things to the sides of his gloves which I made out of foam with pleather sock things. The silver cuffs are made out of foam, glue coated then painted silver.
The Soldier chest harness things I built them up using a weightlifting belt as a base and using thick buffalo leather (here we go with the leather again... >< for the main part and then suede for the cross straps.



Much love and thanks to K and Kellie who let me stay and abuse their house for many weeks before we had to fly to Melbourne to compete!

Hundreds of dollars was spent on this not including the return airfares to fly out from Perth (damn you Perth being so isolated!)

There are seriously so many things I could redo about this costume and I am not 100 percent happy with it, but it was an amazing learning experience and I think I am quite masochistic for even attempting this in the first place..Oh well! Qantas busted my shoulder armour on the flight home, thanks Qantas! *throws things at them*
